What thermal imaging actually does

A thermal camera reads surface temperature, not what is behind the wall directly. Moisture, air leaks and hot electrical connections all change the surface temperature in ways the camera captures, which is how concealed problems are revealed.

What it catches

• Concealed moisture behind walls, floors and ceilings
• Water ingress around bathrooms, kitchens and balconies
• Missing or failed insulation
• Overheating sockets, breakers and connections
• Blocked or leaking air conditioning drainage

What it cannot do

No camera sees through solid walls, and thermal imaging is not an x ray. It is a diagnostic that points to a problem so it can be confirmed and fixed. Used by a trained inspector, it is one of the most valuable tools on the visit.
